Annual Tourism Summit on AL’s Gulf Coast May 19th

This Tuesday, May 19th, the annual Tourism Summit will take place to allow area businesses to see what’s expected in the 2009 travel market.  The summit is hosted by the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau and will be held at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores AL from 8 am to 1 pm.  During the summit, the Pleasure Island business community will hear about the results of surveys and focus groups that were conducted on area visitors, learn online travel research trends, view the impact of social marketing and user-generated content, and find out the latest statistics locally in the Gulf Coast AL area.  By knowing the market, businesses can then plan to cater their services to the needs of area visitors more effectively.
