The Gulf Shores may be home to a new Hybrid car plant, as reported last Thursday, September 24th, when Hybrid Kinetic Motors announced locating to Bay Minette in Baldwin County AL. Their plans are to construct a $1.5 billion plant and employ more than 5,000 people as well as making an estimated 300,000 cars in their first year of production; the ‘megasite’ is 3,000 acres south of Interstate 65. If all goes as planned, the new hybrid car plant will be operational in three to five years.
