CBCCO Look for Solutions to Coastal Alabama’s Homeowner’s Insurance Crisis

Due to the effects of several hurricanes (namely Katrina and Ivan) that came one right after the other in 2004 and 2005, property owners in Alabama’s coastal areas have been feeling the effects on their insurance costs. Thousands of property owners in Alabama’s gulf coast have seen homeowners’ insurance and insurance cancellations over the past few years and thus the Coastal Baldwin Churches’ Community Organization (CBCCO) are asking property owner’s to join with them in finding a solution.

The CBCCO will be holding a meeting this Thursday at 7 p.m. in Daphne Alabama to address the insurance crisis, look at possible solutions, and find a way to ‘challenge’ insurance companies concerning the problem. For nearly a year, the CBCCO has been talking with homeowners about the property insurance crisis and getting a better sense of the problems they are facing; they have also taken the problem to state legislators, other state and area officials, and the insurance agencies themselves for more information on their sides of the story. In the Thursday meeting, the CBCCO will attempt to address what their findings are and seek a direction to bring the crisis to a resolve.
