Work on the Interstate 10 interchange between the Eastern Shore Centre and Bass Pro Shops in Spanish Fort AL is expected to begin next November. This project was initially set to begin more than five years ago and is now set for next year with a cost of $23 million. Although there has been some controversy over a proposed service road from Bass Pro Shops Drive, officials indicate that this will not hinder their plans for construction or federal funding for the interchange.
