A new study is being conducted at the University of Alabama in Huntsville that will be funded by a NOAA operational grant. This study will help establish how the layout of the land makes some Southeastern areas more or less likely to be hit by tornadoes. Research Scientist, Dr. Tim Coleman indicated that the topography of the region, including mountains, bays, oceans, forests, and lakes as well as manmade structures such as the concentration of buildings may have a role in tornado activity.
The information from this study will then be combined with the latest technology in forecasting methods, helping Gulf Coast residents have greater warning times for any possible weather issues.

We still have snow on the ground in Bend Oregon and don’t have to worry about tropical storms here. Looks like a good time to buy in your area.
